The Blizzard of _______ !

As of today, we can forever say, "Remember the blizzard of 2011???"

That's what we've witnessed over the last 36 hours. A crazy blizzard followed by a day of shoveling, snow-blowing, and sleeping. It was exhausting. We had high hopes of getting house-work done on our day off, but alas, that did not occur.

So, I am here to share with you the beauty (and fury) that nature brought upon this Wisconsin town called Kenosha.

Tuesday night was when it all started. The blizzard conditions brought thunder-snow that dumped snow in the amount of 3 inches per hour and 50+ mph winds. I just stared out the windows at the craziness as the wind whistled and howled. Visibility was a quarter mile or less.

I did manage to cozy up and make myself some hot chocolate in my GB Packer mug...

And when we woke up this morning, I couldn't believe the amounts of snow left at our doorsteps.

Thankfully, Joey spent 3+ hours making paths for us to follow on the stairs and sidewalks. And others did the same.

The side entrance of our house was snowed in - about 26 inches of snow total...

How were the streets? Not much better. Covered in about 2 feet of snow. It was definitely a stay-at-home kind of day.

People were digging out their cars up and down the streets (even though they couldn't go anywhere)...

Joey was able to get our car in the garage and 1 side of the driveway cleared.

The snow even managed to make it's way into windows and doors of the house.

It's be a fun 36 hours here at the Yonke homestead.

And looks like it may continue tomorrow as most schools are closed again while the city tries to plow out.

Happy Snow Day!

Love,
